How do College Loan Corporation and CLC Card Services collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • apply for a loan or give us your income information
  • give us your contact information or provide employment information
  • pay your bills

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.
Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

What happens when I limit sharing for an account I hold jointly with someone else?

Your choices will apply to everyone on your account.
Definitions
Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • College Loan Corporation and CLC Card Services are affiliates.
Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • College Loan Corporation and CLC Card Services do not share with nonaffiliates so they can market to you.
Joint Marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • College Loan Corporation and CLC Card Services do not jointly market.
Other Important Information

Vermont Residents: Your personal financial information will not be used by College Loan Corp. or CLC Card Services for their own marketing purposes. The personal financial information we share with each other will be based solely on our respective transactions and experiences with you, except for information we may share with your express consent or as otherwise authorized by law.
